Robby has been coached as a starting QB for less than 1 year and that was during a potato famine. Some of you may want to keep that in mind as you're writing him off.

Okay...

He has still been in a college program since 2020. Two years at Oregon. In his 2nd year at Auburn. That's 4 springs and 4 fall camps. I don't recall what happened at Oregon after that first season, but he has been in the middle of QB battles through spring and fall for two years at AU now. I am sure he at least got some meaningful reps at Oregon in spring or fall as well. Maybe not in the middle of a competition, but he still got college level reps in practice before the season.

I don't care if Hugh Freeze is the best QB coach in the universe and Phillip Mkntgomery had coached 10 Heisman winning QBs. Robby Ashford is not a good QB. He has had ample time to improve and he has shown minimal improvement. He can run like the wind. That's about it. He has no touch on his pass and is inaccurate. His legs are the only part of his game that can help this team and it showed last season when there is no threat of him throwing, the team has way less chance of winning football games.

The guy has electric athleticism, but just isn't a good QB.

Have we really seen enough evidence yet to know that he has only shown minimal improvement as a passer? I've seen him throw 6 passes so far this year and, while they weren't great throws, I don't think that is a large enough sample size to draw any conclusions. I don't think the fact that he didn't beat out a seasoned 2 year P5 starter in Fall practice is evidence that he can't become a starter himself one day either.

The only point I've been making in this thread is that I think that it is too soon to give up on him.
