been named SEC OL of the week. No joke. Auburn's Gunner Britton named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week

CONGRATS GUNNER & WD AU OL!

From the AU Plainsman:

quote:

After Auburn’s win against Massachusetts on Saturday, Gunner Britton was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week. Britton earned this award, which was announced Monday, after playing three positions against the Minutemen.

The 6-foot-6, 312-pound senior transfer from Western Kentucky played at left guard, right tackle and left tackle for the Tigers in Saturday’s game. Britton led an Auburn offensive line that allowed just two quarterback hurries, while Britton himself allowed none.

Britton is the first Auburn player to earn the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week title since Nick Brahms in week nine of the 2020 season. Britton’s addition to the team was just one of several changes to the new-look offensive line this offseason. Britton and the Tigers play at California on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. CST.

Before Nick, the last AU OL to win POTW I could find was Reese Dismukes vs UGA 2013. 'Member this game? Suck it Georgia!

Put the word out - we back. Please dear Lord and 8 lb sweet Baby Jesus let Brother Hugh lead us to the Promised Land and history repeat itself 10 years later with a chance to do the most Auburnest thing ever (and that is saying something) and get some 2013 payback vs Free Shoes for the natty - 15-0 'Ship and eternal melts for errybody!!

Plainsman article quoted above

Interestingly enough... Brian Driscoll Pac-12 Offensive Lineman Of The Week

Cal's LG who moved to center after starting center's injury. That's saying something after the PAC 10 went 13-0. Gold Out incoming Saturday.

quote:

The Gold Out contest will be televised live by ESPN and kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT under the lights at California Memorial Stadium, which is celebrating 100 years in 2023.

Braden Smith was SEC Offensive lineman of the week after Texas A&M in 2017. I'm sure there are others as well.

Speaks VOLUMES on Freeze! Trenches are where games are won and lost. There a tons of good backs and QBs, but none are worth a shite without the guys up front. Just shows how bad Harsin was. Almost the entire OL is new, because Harsin couldn't/wouldn't address the deficiencies upfront.
