FSU in the first half committed some awful penalties. But they were the types of infractions (unnec. roughness, late hits) that showed they were amped up and ready for a street fight. LSU never looked like they were ready to go to the mattresses. They got punched in the mouth and backed down.

Say what you want about Les, but I don't remember an LSU team under him get bullied and shrink.

And I'll guaran-dam-tee 2019 Jeaux would have lit guys up for dropping passes and blowing protections. JD is too nice a kid to be a general.

Then hire Les after Saban leaves if you think so highly of him.

Their coach is way in over his head. He couldn’t even get the accent right. He’s a bad fit. They should have kept no neck.

I can remember a few instances. A lot of Bama games, and then 14 and 15 the team basically quit after that. Arkansas broke a 17 game SEC losing streak by beating LSU 17-0 a week after taking Bama to OT in 2014. They got destroyed in Auburn that year too and Dak Prescott made them look silly.

FSU did look 100% the better team though. There's no excuses. I can't say LSU looked unprepared. I can't say they looked undisciplined, aside from maybe tackling but that goes back to physicality. DL was physical in the 1st half, seemed to be in the backfield a bunch. FSU started running the ball at will in the 2nd half though, that front 7 folded. The offense got a lot of chunk plays but in the red zone the OL got bullied. LSU looked in position most of the time and didn't commit a bunch of penalties, I think some soft calls went our way if anything. OL couldn't run block, RBs couldn't shake initial contact, WRs although had to adjust to some poor throws still couldn't make catches that hit them in the hands and chest, QB couldn't lead WRs or get the timing on his throws down on numerous occasions.

All I can say is FSU just straight up looked like a superior talented and physical team than LSU. I don't think LSU committed a bunch of boneheaded avoidable mistakes or looked unprepared, I don't think the plays that were designed were bad, I just saw one team that was clearly better than the other team and that was the team in garnet.
