If the Tuohys wanted to make Oher family, he could have been adopted. He would have all legal rights of a non-natural born child of the Tuohys.
Per Oher, that is what they attempted to do with the conservatorship (this is what the Tuohys and the Tuohy's attorney told him when he signed before his senior year of high school). Oher's current lawyer is telling him that the Tuohys bent him over and put one in his rear.

No, it wasn't. It was because she was mentally and emotionally unfit to care for herself.
Legal relationships create rights as well as potential liabilities and they can vary by nature and state law.
I admit that I don't know the nuances here between the different legal scenarios. But I know enough to know they exist. You clearly don't understand the nuances here, so there's no real point in casting pearls.
