In the movie there was the scene in which an NCAA investigator was investigating whether the family took in this talented teenager for the purpose of prepping him to play for their alma mater and profiting off of him.
After all these years…. the investigator was correct.

It was obvious to anyone not an OM fan back then. Oher wasn't taken in full-time by the Tuohys until after he was first-team All-State and Tom Lemming called him the #1 OT recruit in the country.
