I’m sorry , but if you’re going to list baseball you might as well list all the other sports. I’m sorry for the 4 schools in this conference that make money in baseball that want to stand on their soap box and scream it’s a “BIG” sport. It is in your town, but it is not nationally. There are only 2 , not just nationally; but SEC generating sports. Those are Football and Men’s Basketball (barely). It’s the truth and that’s what realignment is all about, revenue. I can promise you when they are talking TV deal , they networks aren’t saying we’ll pay you X dollars to be able to show a Thursday night game of the week on our streaming platform. It’s more like we will but these sports on the digital platform for you, but it will cost you this amount.

Now to your point of being relevant; basically has to do with National brand recognition; and for the most part that means football in this country. They were discussing this on of the XM sports channels, yesterday. They made a valid point, there aren’t Power conferences; there are Power programs. This whole consolidation in to 3 leagues; will at some point be a re division Inc into 2- 3 additional levels of college Football.

I hate to break it to you, but some of the current SEC programs Probably won’t make the cut if it’s 40 teams in the top level.
