Not meaning to hijack, but was wondering has anyone use a bug zapper with success to attract fish?

I don't "fish" dock lights but I drop a good size green light from my boat then wait 5 minutes and start throwing a cast net for shad. Especially in the summer when they are 20-30 feet deep. I just caught enough shad this morning for fishing today. Pretty easy.
