Cool. One thing that helps is that I have handhelds that I use and kind of run the whole hunt. I turn the thermal on the rifle on when I make a stalk or I'm about to shoot.

So mine came in and I got a chance to check it out late last night after the wife & kids went to bed... I think its going to work well. I'm used to the 384 res thermals, this is better. The field of view is great but does look decent when u zoom in. The fact that I can zoom-in with the pip feature is nice b/c this wasn't available to do this on my older 384 res thermals. It doesn't have the reticle that I have used in the past but I'll have to get used to the ones available.
I went ahead & bough a few more aps3 batteries. One problem I've had with these older pulsar thermals is that when they are discontinued and the years pass by it has become difficult / impossible to find the batteries that go in the older thermal models (for example the EPS batteries).
Gunna sight it in next week! :dude: :usa:

Mine is coming in today. Palmetto does not have the fastest shipping, if you highlight your tracking number and just put it in Google you'll go straight to UPS or whoever is being used to ship. I think mine took less than five days.

Cool. Yeah, I went ahead & ordered it. The fact that it's reconditioned & has a one-year warranty does kinda give me pause, but I've owed 4 rifle thermals & two handheld thermals from pulsar (all now discontinued) for about 10 years and all have been rock solid.
I did have to send one in b/c I dropped it, then hand to send in again a few years later b/c one of the knobs was worn down & needed to be replaced. Both times the pulsar distributer (sellmark) only charged me like $35 bucks to fix and got it back to me in a few weeks.
Appreciate your input!

Hey seapickle, thank you for your response and input. Just to clarify - when you say the XG 50 is a turn, what do you mean by that?

I saw a review from when it came out in 2000. Crazy that this thing was selling for six thousand bucks when it first came out.

Must have missed something. Thought he said a rifle for his boys, 19 and 12 ???? I am thinking they would have to be pretty big kids to handle the weight and size of an Armalite AR-10
The 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel and KS 47 are all very light guns. As light as my AR 15. And again light recoil similar to an AR15
My RockRiverArms X1 in 308 is as heavy as a boat anchor though. Probably 15 pounds in all with 20 rounds of ammo.

120yrds u could use 6.5g, 6.8 spc or 763x39. I would look at the KS47 in 762x39 just because the bullets are cheaper and the gun has such good reviews. I have & have used both a 6.8 SPC and KS 47 hog hunting. Both have recoil comparable to a ar15 & will put a nice hole in a hog.
