Bowtie whined about how Deloss's "we'll take good care of ya" quip was the turning point in A&M's thinking. He used that to claim UT was operating in "bad faith" instead of being truthful about the fact that A&M (a) always wanted the SEC and (b) was sick of losing to Texas.

Longhorn Network was often mentioned as well, as if A&M would reject ESPN's bucket of money and its own network.

The truth of the matter is the Big 12 was built on sand and was never going to last in its original form. Nebraska always wanted B1G, Colorado always wanted PAC, Texas A&M always wanted SEC, and Texas flirted with everyone.

But the narrative that Texas killed the Big 12 is pure fantasy.
