Jay Johnson has not been a head coach for 18 years.

May wanna go look when he got his very 1st HC job.

2005- Point Loma Nazarene University, located in San Diego California. His only year as HC they went 37-16.

While completing his bachelor's degree in physical education, Johnson became an assistant coach at Point Loma Nazarene in 2001 and remained an assistant coach after graduating before being promoted to head coach for the 2005 season.[8] Johnson led the Sea Lions to a #6 national ranking in the NAIA and a division championship.[4]

He was head coach for one year at a division two school. Then moved to San Diego as an assistant before taking over at Nevada in 2014. Jay has been a head coach for 11 years. 10 at a power 5 school one at a division 2 Christian school. Not sure how you came up with 18 years.

May wanna look deeper than that. That was for 1 season and then he didn't truly become a HC until 2014 in Nevada. He hasn't been a HC for 18 years.

Nope, when he got his first HC job doesn't determine how long he has been a head coach.

Head coach at Point Loma Nazarene for one year.
Head coach at Nevada for two years.
Head coach at Arizona for five years.
Head coach at LSU for two years,

1+2+5+2= 10

Jay has been a "Head Coach" for ten years.
