Give us a frigging break. The world does not revolve around your team or your coach, Bubba.

Williams was on pace to exceed his SECCG numbers prior to going down. Seems the scheme got better when the starting receivers went out.
He had a 40 yard reception on the play where he got injured in the 2nd quarter.

Prior to that play, he was targeted 3 times for 11, -1, and 15 yards (25 yards, 8.3 avg). When you add in the 40 yards on the injury play, he had 4 catches for 65 total yards (16.3 avg).

In the SECCG, he had 7 catches for 184 yards (26.3 avg) and 2 TDs. To match his numbers from the SECCG, he would have needed 3 catches for 119 yards (40 avg per additional catch).

Young had much more pressure on him in the NCG, which is why the 4 drives where Williams was in the game resulted in only 6 points, even with that 40 yard reception on the injury play.

Problem is you refuse to apply this standard to all teams, which makes you a hypocrite.

Another problem is that you are being unrealistic as every team loses players at one point or another. Its not just Bama.

The difference is how teams respond to those personnel losses, which determines the winners and losers. Every team needs a backup to step up.

Who is on his 4th transfer, this time to...Rice. Funny.
And, your wr played.

The only thing that is relevant is how good he did at a place like UGA with a guy like Pickens to throw to, which was really good as proven by the facts you want to ignore.

What he did elsewhere without Pickens matters not, and your insistence otherwise is evidence of the desperation you speak of.

Our WR1 played less than your WR1 played in both games, but we know your hypocrisy will not let you acknowledge that irrefutable fact.

Your lies were exposed last year.........

Jamison @ 22 snaps and 18 minutes into the games:

game 1: 3 receptions for 100 yards and 1 td
game 2: 4 receptions for 65 yards and 0 td

Jamison went down in first half. Yes, he was on pace to exceed his numbers.

How so? He had 35 less yards and no TD's at the same point in the game.

You know what's embarassing? Your inability to man up and admit Alabama straight up lost.

I've admitted Bama lost many times. I'm discussing why they lost.

Be a man. Stop wrapping yourself in your security blanket of excuses.

Excuses-facts.

Admit that Georgia fought hard and deserved the win.
Because they do deserve it.

The team that wins gets the trophy. Deserve has nothing to do with it. I'm discussing why the won the trophy.

You dodged the question by claiming it's a different topic.

It is a different topic. That's why the headlines the next day were about Bama injuries, not the lack of backups.

quote:

ou assert that you don't need quality backups if your starters stay healthy. I assert that quality backups are needed in case your starters go down

"if" is the key word there.

So, I ask my straightforward question again-- how did Alabama's depth, or lack of it, work out for them at the national championship game against Georgia??

Bama didn't have more Metchies/Williams if that's what you're wanting. That's why they beat Georgia easily the first game and lost the 2nd...because of having the misfortune of those players going down.

I guess being proven to be a lousy QB everywhere else doesn't detract from his greatness. That's funny.

You keep wanting to have the same discussion. I've proven with facts that Pickens could have played a lot more if he had chosen to do so. If you play 20 snaps 5 weeks prior how many could you play 5 weeks later?

Math doesn't lie. 60 minutes in a game, a player has 64 after 18 would be 128 after 36, 192 after 54. That is the pace he was on by time/yards. Also, in the first game Bama started running the ball more later with the game in hand.

So, everybody making excuses for Alabama? Just like you.

ex·cuse
[excuse]
VERB
excuses (third person present)

attempt to lessen the blame attaching to (a fault or offense); seek to defend or justify:

Alabama fans.

"Colt McCoy"!-Texas fans
"We would have won anyway!"-Alabama fans

"Injuries made us lose!"-Alabama fans
"What about Colt McCoy?"-Texas fans
"That's totally different!"-Alabama fans

1. You clearly dont understand that it doesnt have a thing to do with how good he was at UGA.

You keep wanting to have the same discussion. I've proven with facts that Pickens could have played a lot more if he had chosen to do so. If you play 20 snaps 5 weeks prior how many could you play 5 weeks later?

2. You clearly dont understand the rehab process of an ACL tear. All that matters is how many he actually played.

3. You clearly refuse to include all of the key players who didnt play for UGA, and with the most absurd reasoning possible.

Not if they have the starter.

4. You clearly dont understand this isnt realistic in football. Come back to reality. No team has all of their best players fully healthy and on the field in every game.

5. You clearly dont understand math well as his pace in game 2 was behind his pace in game 1.

6. You clearly dont understand the concept of apples to apples. You can only compare pace to pace, not total to pace. Its one or the other, and in this instance, only one is possible, which is pace to pace.
