Coach Dodd was a man of morals and ethics. Bear Bryant did not know the meaning of those words.

Bear would sign players, then run them off to clear his roster if a better player came along.

Your comments read like a dog that's been beaten too much. Dobbs played for Tennessee under Neyland and his dislike for Alabama was a lot to do about that. BAMA was taking advantage of NCAA scholarship rules like other SEC schools. He wanted it changed and solicited Alabama to vote to reduce the number. The Alabama president did not and Dodd was history.

Dodd was petty about what he thought he had coming. On one occasion one of his players got hammered by a BAMA player and Dodd wanted Coach Bryant to punish him. Telling Coach Bryant how to run his football program wasn't a great idea. Just more Vol/Tech whining.

When GaTech left the SEC it was literally the death penalty. The moral of the story? Don't poke the "Bear."
