Texas beat three (all on the road), including a double digit win in Auburn. Our only loss was by 1 point to #7. You could make an argument for either.

Things were so stupid back then with all the bowl tie-ins. Yet people think it was better than nowadays.

Texas indeed had a great team. But they picked the worst game of the year to lose. Unlike the 1971 Cotton Bowl loss this one cost them the title (well,they were UPI champs in 1970.)
