This sounds like it was a red flag.

Flags were yellow today and I think that gave thousands of people false security. It’s still dangerous and can easily take you under. I drive the beach every single day, and see people on the water on red flags all the time. It’s idiotic.

I read that a man from Tennessee drowned in either Destin or PCB the other day. Apparently there were double red flags that day. His wife was floundering in the water and he tried to save her, but he ended up going under while she survived.

When did double red flags become a thing? I don’t remember them in the 90s or early 2000s. I was always taught red flag = don’t go in the water. Now as an adult, I only go in ankle deep to piss and let the waves wash it off if it’s a red flag.

To me, the double red flags give families a really false since of security when it’s only a red flag.

Hopefully all of the tragedies this month will lead to a little more awareness and save lives.
