Yeah, it's unfortunate- if we were going to go out on a limb, I'd pick 1966.
That being said, I don't understand why Tennessee doesn't catch even more hell for claiming 1967.

1977 was a complete sham with ND going from 5th to 1st in an extremely close vote. BAMA was a force the entire year and destroyed Ohio State in the Sugar.
