If LSU wins….

Do they become the best baseball program of all time, despite not having the most national championships?
USC has 12 national championships, but only ONE since winning it in 1978 and it was 25 years ago. Also, no CWS appearance since 2001.
A win for LSU would put them alone in second. All seven national titles since 1991. Only ONE loss out of EIGHT finals appearances.
Just something to think about….

Of all time? No, definitely not. USC will hold that until someone else surpasses them.
But for all intents and purposes, LSU is already the sport's preeminent program perception-wise.
Whether or not they win, I can only hope the Texas boosters see this and realize that going forward, we're going to have to buy minor league teams just like LSU did this year, if we want to stay with them.

My man, is UCLA the greatest basketball program of all time? Because they won almost all their titles in a 12 year period with basically 1 coach? No schools cared about baseball the way they do now when USC had all of their success.

Talk about a lack of self awareness...

Lollll Texas fans are such gaping pussies
Wasn’t your #1 guy and Big12 Pitcher of the Year a Notre Dame Transfer…?
Maybe if Texas had any other notable alumni besides Roger Clemens, an infamous steroid user, they would actually compete with LSU for top transfers.
Enjoy your weekend watching LSU baseball

Kentucky and North Carolina are better programs all time than UCLA basketball. Longer sustained success over a longer period of time, with multiple head coaches. I don’t care about USC racking up a bunch of titles in the 1960’s when there was virtually no parity.

You’re talking to a fan who truly believes Texas football is a blue blood because they have 1 title in the last 50+ years

People say this and I get it but the reality is the VAST majority of this LSU team started at LSU.
Who is the minor league team that was bought? Skenes and White?

What a fricking idiot you are

He went to Notre Dame high school in Los Angeles. He wasn't a transfer.

Yep, LSU is the only team with transfer players, too.
Funny that you never hear people talking about Chase Dollander and Hurston Waldrep being transfers.
Nope, just LSU, where we have to beg and pay millions just to get elite baseball players

Well, they're both a huge part the reason you're in the finals, in addition to Tre Morgan. I also didn't mean that in a negative way -- I said I want Texas to do the same. It's simply the way the game is played now, and LSU is out in front of everyone. I tip my hat to you guys.

Yep - guys like Cade Beloso and Dylan Crews haven’t done shite in Omaha.
Yep.
Yep.

All great players. And you have to buy great players. LSU does that. I want Texas to do the same.

Yep - an Air Force alum went to the highest bidder.
Tommy White, who wanted to go to FSU or Florida, was told by his father he was going to LSU because he didn’t want him around his HS crowd.
What did Ewers cost to leave Ohio State? I hope Texas gets more of a return on him than they did last year, that’s for sure.

LSU really has very few transfer portal guys compared to everyone else. They just happened to sign the best pitcher and hitter last year. Almost all of our biggest contributors were signed out of high school. Crews, Beloso, Morgan, Thompson, Milazzo, Pearson, Travinski, Floyd, Herring, Jones, etc were all signed out of high school. Jobert and Ackenhausen were juco guys. Cooper came with Jay from Arizona.

Like I said, I get the perception and I wouldn't see it as a negative even if it were true, but it just isn't reality when you look at the facts.
It's one of those things that gets repeated so much that it becomes fact, much like "LSU has no pitching behind Skenes."

Jealousy has a habit of getting in the way of reality.
