I honestly get, yet disagree, with why this topic got so many down-votes. It's a good question. I've worked everyone of these states. This topic can hook me in all night.

Let's take Louisiana. And let's talk about ol' boys doing good. You get very rural in Louisiana, and the first thing you'll see is very, very nice houses next to crawfish farms. Which are pretty much rice paddies growing ditch bugs. No shame on them boys - they're making good money.

Good on the Cajuns. Plus, they're always nice, at least to my Kentucky arse, in the bars and the job-sites. Mad props to Louisiana.
