NC State, VT, Clemson, and FSU to the SEC.

Why do you people keep saying this? The SEC doesn't want FSU or Clemson, do you not understand what matters with conference expansion? Jesus Christ.

I agree.

I was once under a spell of wanting huge, super conferences however the SEC has provided plenty of scratch to that itch…:and some of the consequences no longer seem appetizing We should evaluate in 5 years.

Yeah I never really understood why the SEC would want Clemson and FSU when we already have the state’s flagship schools of SCAR and UF. Virginia and UNC would be great fits considering they’re flagship schools in southern states the SEC doesn’t have any schools in. Just makes too much sense to want them instead of FSU and Clemson.

The SEC would take FSU with open arms, probably Clemson as well. This final round of expansion is going to be far less focused on new media markets and conference footprint but more on adding brand name programs that create great match-ups. We’re entering the streaming era very quickly, cable is all but dead, and conferences will rely on folks paying monthly subscriptions to generate revenue.

There are only a few marquee programs left for the B1G or the SEC to absorb that are likely to drive enough viewers to increase payout per school: Clemson, FSU, Notre Dame, and Oregon. And if we’re being a bit generous, Washington and Miami.

FSU and Clemson are very obviously cultural fits that would fit neatly into the heart if the SEC footprint. And get out of here with the “gentlemen’s agreement”, if that ever did seriously matter, it died with Texas joining the conference over the tantrum thrown by Aggy. Like it or not, Clemson and FSU will be in this conference by 2036.

What, are you the commish? There is every bit as much reason to keep the Big10 out of SC and FL as there is to pull in NC and VA. But this is just my opinion Mr. Sankey.
