Texas v.

Alabama 7-2-1 78%
LSU 9-8-1 53%
Georgia 4-1-0 80%
Florida 2-0-1 100%
Tennessee 2-1-0 67%
Auburn 5-3-0 63%

Total 29-15-3 66%

It is going to be SO much fun watching these numbers slide as Texas has to play the big 6 every season instead of in Bowl games. Some quick research indicates that when Texas played these games they had a winning % of .798 the year the game was played, on average. The SEC opponent had a winning % of .613%. Of the group LSU is the only team that played Texas with any regularity during the regular season and not in a bowl game, the rest of the time it was a matchup in a bowl game where Texas had a better record or a regular season matchup where Texas had a much better record than their SEC opponent. That ain't happening going forward...3 of the 4 programs are far better established than Texas at the moment and have been for far longer...one of them is coming out of slump that is unprecedented in their history and the other 2 are a pick 'em and no telling how good they may be from one year to the next.

It's going to be an annual, season long grind, but I like our chances.

Your post recognizes that Texas has a better record historically; that is the normal. Texas is coming out of the worst "slump" in the history of the school. We went from a decade of 11-2 to 13 years of 7-6.

Texas will not loose a recruiting battle to a Conference again, or haven't you noticed. A school, yes, but not a conference.

Texas will be a worthy competitor in 2024.
