I lived in baltimore for5 years back in the 90s.

I went to AIT at Aberdeen, not too far outside Baltimore, back in '91. I went to Baltimore once for a weekend. "Hey GI - you want some coke ? Come on GI - we know you want to party".

Yet - it wasn't all that hard to leave. You just ... leave. Inner Harbor was cool, even then. With the old ship and all that. The Block was a thing back then.

And back then, there was real live Shore Patrol at Inner Harbor. I think just to keep our dumb asses in line. They instructed our group to turn around and go the other way once, when we thought we wanted to go watch a fight and maybe take the winner.
