Used to read a lot of Scarb. when he was much younger - a babe really when he wrote next to Bolton, Van Hoose, etc. - I used to think he gave a superb narrative and loved and knew much about bball (his favorite sport).
Then I kinda fell out on him. He has been the only even-keel voice since this tragedy unfolded - and knows more than anyone. He didn’t care about headlines, just the facts.
I’m a fan again.
And I will never read another article by that other arse again. What he did to those kids (and it involves everyone) this year is simply unforgivable.

Worst things first. Let’s not bury the lede or resurrect a tragedy beyond saying what has to be said. What happened to the Alabama basketball team Friday evening in Louisville, Kentucky, had nothing to do with what happened to Jamea Harris in the early morning hours of Jan. 15th in Tuscaloosa.
Plenty of Self-Righteous Brothers have begun to sing that song, to credit karma for the Crimson Tide’s inglorious end to an otherwise wildly successful season. They are as wrong on that score as they’ve been all along.
That’s a serious slight to San Diego State, which got in Alabama’s face and put the No. 1 overall seed in an uncomfortable place en route to a commanding 71-64 upset. It’s also an absolute insult to the memory of a young mother and a slap in the face to the concept of justice.

Thanks for posting the gist of it (because I won't click on AL.commie).

Good for him for not being a righteous douchebag like Goodman. AL.com still needs to be bankrupted.

Goodman, Travis, Wolken..
Their outrage that a mother was killed has passed now… Alabama lost!
That’s all it took ! They won’t write about the trial or anything else etc.
They attempted to destroy Alabama and Brandon Miller.. and in their minds it worked..
and perhaps it did, we’ll never know how much of a factor it was

The way he has gone after Alabama and Miller is beyond pathetic. His own son was a heroin addict who overdosed….which is very sad but it also means he has no right calling out the “leadership” skills of others to this degree. Especially since he’s doing it purely for clicks.

I never cared for Scarbs. He wrote too many one, two and three word sentences.
