TIL football and baseball aren't real sports.

But apparently exercise is.

So do I. It’s literally the oldest sport in the history of the world. Every other sport ever invented has its roots in track & field. It’s also one of the most difficult sports to coach successfully: 18 different events, most with vastly different training and technical requirements. I like to ask them “Do you know what VO2 max means? The difference between aerobic and anaerobic? How to train a triple jumper compared to a 60M hurdler vs. a discus thrower vs. a 5k runner? Write a season-long workout schedule for a miler with the correct mileage and sprint work to peak at the correct time of the season?” No, of course not. They don’t know shite about it.

Didn't track and field come out of ancient Rome or Greece?

What does a T&F coach even tell his team? Run faster and jump higher?

Let's hope. He hasn't lived up to the legacy, or even come close.

Nice win tonight, though.

Man I don’t want to get in a pissing match with you and I mean no disrespect, but that is one of the most ignorant sports-related statements I’ve ever seen. Don’t feel bad. You’re not the first person to be completely and totally ignorant about the technical requirements and knowledge necessary for coaching a successful track and field team.

Congrats on NCAA title #48 & #49.

Women's Indoor Track. Men's Indoor Track.

First school to sweep since Oregon in 2016.

Congratulations, Piggies.

Every time we go up to Fayetteville for the LSU Football game, I make a point to walk over and visit the T&F Facilities. Well done.

No doubt it's hard to do.

Also no doubt it's not nearly as complex a "sport" as football or basketball.

Correct, just like baseball coaches tell their players "just hit the ball bro"

I heard he's retiring, but that could be confusion with Harter retiring instead

At least Bucknam got a natty today
