LEOs cannot lie about certain things (like the nature of your rights), but they decidedly MAY lie to you in order to secure a confession, if they have some evidence that you committed the offense (for example).

So cops can lie to a suspect, but a suspect can't lie to a cop.

In other words, the answer to the question is not binary.

No, it is in fact very binary. It's the definition of binary. You have claimed to be a lawyer on this site, which I doubt, but if true, you should be disbarred.

I could cite you to the governing authority on each of those points, but you would just refuse to read it. If you DID read it, you would not understand it.

Why?

I hate to repeat myself, but you are an imbecile.

Personally, I do not think that it is good public policy to allow LEOs to lie to suspects, but that is NOT the question presented in this discussion. Unfortunately, there is also nothing in the text of the Constitution (that pesky Strict Constructionism again) which PROHIBITS the state from lying to a criminal suspect in all circumstances. I would explain the reasons for this, but (again) we both know that you would not understand the explanation, because you are an imbecile.
