Not to speak for the dead but I think you are at least partially right. I think Slive would have gone after UK basketball or Alabama football. Partially as you say for the PR black eye for the league but partly being from a generation of right and wrong > $$$$. In the past decade or so I have had multiple AD's tell me they knew they were selling their souls for these new media deals. Chickens are just coming home to roost and I fear it will get worse before it gets better.

Agree - Slive had big ole ballz either way but he knew when to hold and when to fold.

I didn’t always agree with Slive but he wouldn’t tolerate this spinning out of control like it is now. This would have been handled at a bourbon meeting at his office
