It’s another statement that may be technically true but is intended to paint the client in the most favorable way without being the most accurate representation of what happened.

It’s easy to say Miller couldn’t read the minds of the others involved. Does that fact negate any and all culpability he could have in this situation?

If he read the text, he would know Miles wanted his gun for a reason. That would show he had knowledge that Miles intended to use it. Otherwise why would Miles even text him to bring it. You can't parse the two.
