Or there could be a third option somewhere between “a thug that delivered a gun to his friend with the intent that it be used to commit a crime” and your scenario.

An option like, Brandon had no context for the text, thought it was odd, but was already almost to Miles when it came through, pulled up to pick up Miles only for him to reach in the backseat, pull the gun out from under a shirt and hand it to his friend who then started shooting. Dash cam and video evidence support this, where is your evidence to the contrary?

Oh there it is again. The “almost there and can’t do anything about it” excuse

I feel your 3rd option is less likely because who texts someone a message about needing something back if they know that person has no idea they’re riding around with it
