The idea that he didn't have talent is not backed by the recruiting rankings.

You must have been looking at overall rankings, rather than just offense. If you really want to see what he had to work with, look at the skill position recruiting rankings over the past 5 years compared to others.

Pretty sure he’s going to do just fine with the players he’ll have to work with.

Ohio State, Alabama, Texas A&M, Oregon are the only teams that had more 4* & 5* WR/RBs that played over the last 3 years. Notre Dame had the same amount as Clemson & UGA.

Offense

QB- Drew Pyne, top 250 recruit, four star

RB- Audric Estime, top 250 recruit, four star

RB- Logan Diggs, top 500, three star

TE- Michael Mayer, not even gonna look this up, projected first round draft pick

WR Jayden Thomas, top 350, four star

WR Lorenzo Styles, top 150, four star

RB Chris Tyree, top 100, four star

These are their offensive leaders stat wise at the skill positions

Their projected Oline for 2022 are all four and five star guys.

Their center is usually mocked in second round, but have seen a few with him in the backend of the first round.

That's not a number 60 recruiting offensive roster. Not even close. Probably close to top ten, but definitely top 20.
