Isn’t he the one who went off about BOB sucking arse when he was hired? Don’t know Erik otherwise, but that was a good call lol.

There's not liking a hire and then there's making multiple posts regarding how much he hated the BoB hire. BoB didn't work out here but his job performance wasn't at the level that Erik was predicting. A championship should've been won two years ago and last year's issue wasn't exactly the lack of scoring points.

This year's reaction is a bit calmer compared to the previous hire. He made some solid points but the argument doesn't hold up when you realize that 1. He's going to be running Saban's offense 2. Talent discrepancy between the two schools and 3. He was already highly regarded by coaches like Sean McVay and Brian Kelly, also apparently Saban a few years ago.

The numbers at Notre Dame won't wow anyone but when you're trying to find someone to run your system, there's a lot to be looked at and considered. I'm not thumping my chest or claiming this is a 100% amazing hire but I do think this is one of the more intriguing hires by Saban over the past few years and that calls for a bit of patience, especially for Erik.

Bob didn’t suck arse. He put up points. Golding got drunk and when we slipped in recruiting for a while at DL and LB his soft @ss D got exposed.

Kind of begs the question - how close are Kelly & Saban? Kind of like a 1/2-intensity Belichick deal? Not at all? Just wondering where this hire came from.
