It doesn’t happen that often with football recruits. More common in basketball

One of our WRs did it a few years ago, Malcolm Johnson Jr

I’m not a huge fan of it generally in football, especially in the SEC. Usually, a guy that should be playing their senior season in high school has no business suiting up on Saturday.

It’s more common with QBs… the kid from Opelika HS that ended up at USCe (dad was on Gus’s staff) comes to mind.
