If you arent the shooter, I would think you have to have some level of conspiracy or at least knowledge to be charged like Miles is. To me this sounds like they were rolling on somebody

In Alabama you can be charged with murder for many things. A friend’s nephew was with a group of kids who were committing minor vandalism and someone came upon them, fired a warning shot into some bushes to stop them. The problem was, there was a kid in the bushes who was killed. The nephew was charged with murder 2d degree and did time because they were in the act of committing a crime. The man who shot the girl was not charged.
