My son is a Junior who plays HS football and just turned 17 (last week). There is a Freshman QB on his team that is 8 months younger than him. Held back and birthday timing...so my son will be 17 his entire Sr. Season...when this kid is a Senior, he will be 19. The Freshman already has an offer from an SEC program.

Thank you
We shall wait for Tuscaloosa's response

Is this in Tennessee?
So your son's birthday is in January. You're saying that this other kid's birthday is in May? That he will turn 19 in May before his senior year? This kid had already turned 16 in May before his freshman year?
If so, then he will not be eligible at all to play any sport in Tennessee his senior year.
"Section 9. No student shall be eligible to participate in any athletic contest during any school year if he/she becomes 19 years of age on or before August 1."

Well, he'd better be getting the extra credits so he can early enroll in December of his senior year. Either way, he isn't playing football his senior year if his birthdate is when you said.
