Mosiah Nasili-Kite

Kite comes to AU from Maryland. He is a big body for the interior DL. I’m expecting him to play the NT spot or the 0 tech. I’m not sure if that is where the coaches want him so I’m speculating a little. He’s 6’2” 300 lbs so for me that puts him at the nose. Hunker down and be immovable. Anyway, Kite plays with good pad level but isn’t much of a pass rusher. From the small amount of film I have watched he appears to be gap sound. I have high hopes for Kite to bring experience and good sound play to the interior DL. I know we have a lot of Jayson Jones fans around but I expect someone to push Jones for the starting spot. I’d throw Kite right into the mix for a possible starting role.

Demario Tolan

A much needed younger linebacker ended for depth come to AU from LSU. Auburn finished second in his recruitment out of high school and once he decided to get out of Red Stick he came calling to Auburn. We have plenty of experienced some what unproductive linebackers so bringing in a 1 and done here wouldn’t have made much sense for roster management. I could see us close out the winter transfer period with possibly another younger linebacker as well or post spring. Have to layer the depth on the roster and Tolan definitely does that. Tolan is extremely fast but is a little undersized. Some of our best LBers have been undersized. Hard to say what type of player Tolan will be for the 23 squad but he provides depth at minimum to a weak linebacker room. I could see Tolan being anything from special teams player to a starting backer.

Coach Roberts scheme requires different types of line backers. They have to be able to move to be able to pressure or to drop and be in their gap assignments. Tolan has that skill.

Not sure where some of you are coming up with your totals, but unless I'm reading this wrong, according to this article, after transfers in and out and all the new comers have been accounted for, Auburn is sitting at 73 total. That would mean we still have 12 spots available to bring in MUCH needed talent and depth.
