This is a conundrum for LSU fans.
First of all, why wouldn't he come back? It's not like NFL scouts are knocking at his door.
And he didn't exactly lose his job to Nuss. He got hurt and Nuss played well. That doesn't mean he lost his job.
Kelly sees these QB's every day, he knows who gives him the best chance to win, and Daniels has been that guy, and LSU overachieved with Daniels.
On the other hand, Nuss is apparently a badass. I don't know much about him other than watching him light us up in the 2nd half of the SEC CG. You'd hate to lose that guy to the portal because he's obviously got skills and potential. What's Nuss's eligibility situation vs Daniels?

Yeah, most are either thrilled or livid. I think you just have to trust Kelly on this.

He was actually projected to draft, sometimes even middle rounds. He's really going to have to step it up though. 2024 QB class is stronger.

There's a lot of talent in both of those guys, and Howard will probably be better than both.
Frankly, if we're going to lose 1, I'd prefer to lose Nuss. It'll suck to see him transfer somewhere else and throw for 4 to 5k yards, but I trust Daniels to improve on his passing more than I trust Nuss to stop throwing horrible interceptions.

2023 is it for Daniels. Nuss will be a redshirt sophomore in 2023.

Nuss is going to be a RS sophomore
He’s still a bit of an unknown. Looked absolutely dreadful against southern in September but was throwing ropes against Georgia. Would like to see him and Howard battle it out in ‘24
