Random thought about a possible portal change

I'll try to not make this too long.
I think they should at least make a rule that you need to be enrolled with a school for at least 1 calendar year before entering.
Early entries could enter the following February timeframe. Those that enter school in the summer must wait until the end of their sophomore year of football (December).
Without this, you might have a 5 star player on your team for 6 months. They aren't even developed yet.
This would be very important for those lineman who can't play because they don't have the weight yet.
Do you think this would be a good change?

Yes. Far better than the system in place now.

I agree.
Also, transfer has to sit out a year before being able to play.
That would deter a lot of this BS.

How about the NIL is considered a contract. They want to be treated like pros up until they are.

Shouldn’t any periods closely align with academic calendars?

NIL will resolve itself when the return on investment isn't there. The portal is a way bigger issue because there is no penalty for jumping around.
