quote:Except that's completely different from what was posted:
but if you had a sampling of 1000 college guys and you picked 10 out of that 1000 and had them practice volleyball for 6 months the guys would win easily.
quote:Having 1,000 men try out for 10 spots is vastly different than "a group of random guys with only a marginal interest in volleyball"
Those chicks would get beat by a group of random guys with only a marginal interest in volleyball who met maybe an hour before the match.

Except I wasn't replying to him I was replying to you. What anyone else posted in this thread is irrelevant to my comment.
The whole point is, it's nice that these girls won a championship. Happy for them. Happy women's sports exist. Pretending that they would be elite athletes in the world of men's sports is disingenuous.
quote:No we are not, or they would be dunking consistently.
You're talking about 6'3 girls with 30"+ verticals who have played volleyball for a decade.
quote:Picking 10 guys is exactly what you said. I added the caveat of them being a similar age to the girls and spending a small amount of time practicing together.
You could pick 10 guys out of a thousand and they would get their asses kicked by these girls.
