My FIL was a business owner near Auburn. He could not stand Pat Dye. He always talks about how dirty and how much of a sleeze bag Pat Dye was.

I'm sure he does but he needs to realize that not everyone tips the parking attendant.

I know two different guys who worked on Dye’s farm in college. They had nothing but good things to say about coach. His wife on the other hand was a different story. You can tell a lot about how people treat their employees. Especially employees who are cleaning out horse stalls.

Met Pat dye once. Was not impressed, seemed like he'd been drinking. A lot. Shocker, I know.

A couple additional observations... I'll flip the script and talk about a couple of absolutely nice coaches. Had a chance to separately spend a few minutes with Bart Starr and Gene Stallings. Both of them were as absolutely gracious and polite as they could be.

I always thought Saban was a bit of a jerk, but he was OUR jerk, you know? Then I got a chance to interact with him a bit, and found out that he has a good sense of humor. But when that work switch flips, he's all business and has no time for anything else. Get him away from the office and he's a different guy.

But then again, maybe most coaches are probably like that because they have to be, at least the more successful ones.
