I had Leach on a flight years ago on a flight from Dfw to Lubbock. He was a really nice guy. He was traveling with a huge trophy that they had won at Texas Tech. I’m not sure if it was a bowl trophy or a big 12 trophy but he stored it in the closet. He was a very down to earth guy, and talked to everyone. Prayers for coach Leach!

I used to talk to him on sirius radio weekly if not more when he was on hiatus from coaching due to Texas Tech bs. I had hour and change daily commute and was on the road 30-40k miles a year.

Sometimes I swear you could hear sea birds or him casting on the call ins. He was awesome of course. You could tell he wasn’t thrilled about the job or his situation but was always great when talking to callers, including me. Plus I tried not to talk much about football, which I don’t think he even likes. I am avid fisherman and his age also a world class bullshitter but he has a PhD in it and is the real master.

My wife has to remind me we aren’t really friends and he wouldn’t know me if he saw me which is true, but i quickly have to ad, he would know my call in name though. Lol.

So maybe we aren’t really friends but it really seems like it as he is truly interested in other people, and is as nice and genuine guy I have ever meet.

More prayers sent.
