Nick Saban must be quite the gym fanatic, because it's obvious he has not abided by the other 3 items all that well throughout his life.

Some people it’s genetic. Out of my 4 grandparents 3 are alive. My grandfather who is a doctor and exercises/eats well. He is healthy. His wife died from Alzheimer’s and she was a health freak her whole life. The first one to die was the healthiest of all 4.

My other 2 have chain smoked since they were 16 years old and eat terrible. Grandfather recently was hit by an 18 wheeler in his Buick. Was on a vent. Didn’t think he would make it. Took him off vent and gave him 50/50 odds. He walked out a month later, told my uncle in his mind laying there all he could think was he didn’t want to die and he wanted a Big Mac and cigarette they’re both in their 80s.

I knew a guy who lived to be 90 and drank PBR from the time he woke up till time he went to bed. Kept a 6 pack by his bed in case he woke up at night. Did he die of liver disease? Nope.

Some people just are prone to certain diseases and some you can’t kill. It’s crazy

Possibly. Even though Saban has "chilled", so to speak, in recent years, I don't think I could have worked like he supposedly did for the first 75 percent of his coaching career without stressing eating and having my blood pressure skyrocket to a systolic of >200.

There's very probably a hidden genetic component to Saban's cardiovascular success so far.

beautiful post sir

I'll bet your smoker grandparents were physically active

a 63 year old guy told me a few years ago, this doctor said, "Do you want to keep working, or do you want to live?"

he retired then he said. But he was supply chain guy behind a computer in a chair, and decently fat and out of shape.

"working" can be any number of things. Sitting behind a computer and inhaling triple cheeseburgers and getting paid high dollar is different than retiring from stress related shite and hoeing a garden and raising goats.
