you want to use rankings at the time the game was played?
Ohio State vs Top 15 teams: 2-1
Alabama against Top 15 teams: 1-2

Why is Penn State considered a top 15 team?

They have one of the weakest schedules in football and only played two ranked teams; OSU and Michigan.

They literally propped the B1G off of Penn State ranking.

Yet Penn State hadn't beaten a team with a pulse all season.

Because they only have 2 losses: Ohio state and Michigan

Ohio state and Michigan are better than Tennessee and LSU, who Bama lost to.

If Penn state isn’t a top 15 team, then Bama should not be a top 10 team.

Thats why I tend to go with who Vegas would favor.

They’re not always right, just more than everyone else. I figure most of the top 25 would be a favorite against Penn State. Their best win is Ohio. Not Ohio State, the Ohio Bobcats.

because they are currently ranked #11

i haven't been in a math classroom in over 25 years, but I'm pretty sure 11 is still considered top 15.

i don't know anyone that's using Penn State as the "prop up" for the Big Ten

that's why they're behind all but 1 power 5 team with the same record. Which would be just the opposite of propping up.
