What I can't accept is some young man getting $10,000 a month for four years or three years of college? That's $120K a year. What do you think he's doing with that? Kirby's stance is the same stance taken by the NFL [a very, very large institution that refuses to pay 18, 19, and 20 year olds because they (a large enough percentage to matter) won't handle money well. And when they don't handle money well, they will be in police blotters and lawsuits. And that tarnishes the shield].
Knowing the problem, we have dedicated resources on top of resources to help the student athletes for their own benefit.
The NFL still hasn't caved in for some reason.
