I mean several teams in the top 12 are legitimately good football teams and can beat TCU or Michigan or USC

A lot of people complain that there aren't even four good teams each year.
But if that is the case, why does it matter? Worst case scenario, we get some good games and all the teams typically 5-7 can actually demonstrate how they would do.
Also, unlike current bowls, I think most players will not opt out during the play offs --- which leads to better games for the fans.
It is happening either way, so we might as well look at the positives.
