Early signing period

Not sure why it matters. No offensive recruit is coming here because of BoB. They all know he's due to leave after this season anyway. The defensive recruits are coming due to Saban and not Golding. Golding might be their recruiter but they aren't coming to play for him.

Not an O'Brien fan at all but that's not true.
Eli Holstein says hello. Per 247 he is/was recruited by "Pete Golding/Bill O'Brien".

Holstein frequented Tuscaloosa throughout the spring continuing to foster those relationships and get familiar with the sights and sounds of the college town.

“These visits were about my relationship with Bill O’Brien,” Holstein told On3 earlier this month following a three-touchdown performance in the spring game.

“It was a lot more talking, looking around Tuscaloosa and the campus. Before it was a business trip — to camp, to get the offer, see the facilities. Recently, we’ve looked around the city of Tuscaloosa to see if I could live there and if I could enjoy it and college life in Tuscaloosa.”

Golding's recruitment is irrelevant when he's just going to put the guys in a 1-5-5 with each linebacker head up on an offensive lineman and each defensive back man to man against their worst possible matchup. This year's unit was loaded with five stars seniors and he made almost all of them invisible. Recruiting is the easier part of the job anyway, especially with NIL. Shouldn't be hard to find someone who can do that and actually have the guys occasionally in position with solid fundamentals.
