If Hooker was not injured, they may have ranked Tennessee over Alabama, but it would have still been close with that bad South Carolina loss.

I get that that's the cookie cutter talking point/ response but it makes no sense.
If you don't penalize and reward teams for losing and winning actual games then why even play the game at all?
