1. Easiest for the committee and also pretty likely.

Georgia wins out, OSU-Michigan is a close game, Tennessee wins out. TCU loses, USC loses.

There might be some push back if TCU loses but still ends up big 12 champs at the end, but I think this is pretty easily UGA, OSU, Mich, Tennessee.

2. Hardest for the committee that has a decent likelihood. Georgia wins out. Tennessee wins out. OSU-Michigan is a close game. TCU or USC wins out. This will likely be a choice between B1G loser vs. Tennessee.

3. All hell breaks lose. LSU wins out. Tennessee wins out. UGA wins the two before Atlanta, OSU-Michigan is close. TCU wins out. USC wins out. But I'd say as much fun as this is to talk about, we're looking at less than 1 percent chance all of this happens.

I think the hope is
Ohio st vs LSU
Michigan vs Georgia

6 or 8 team playoff to follow. Sort of like 2011 sped the 4 team along.

Leave enough deserving teams out and change will come

Why would loser of OSU/Mich get in before Tenn?

If it's a close game? Well, that would be different than Tennessee's loss.

You didn't say frick-all nothing about UNC or Clemson, who both will have a say in what the committee decides should one or the other win out, whether anyone wants to believe that or not.

Possible with Clemson. But they have NC so far back, hard to see them making up that ground with the rest of their schedule. But, they still have never chosen a non conference champ P5 with one loss over a P5 champ with one loss.

And that's why they will have a say, should one or the other not lose again.

Now, what will the committee do with them remains to be seen. But, historically, they have done one thing and not the other.

But, but, but 2nd half.

Seriously, neither OSU or Mich record would compare favorably to Tennessee's.

The only prayer Clemson has is help from tcu and Norte dame and FSU winning out. If that happens then and only then would they have an argument amongst 1 loss

I thought Penn St being left out was what really got expansion talks rolling. Then it was unless you're certain teams you're eliminated (talking about G5). Look I thought 8 was the way but 12 with the top 4 getting byes is acceptable.

My whole problem with the committee is that I thought the BCS was a decent ranking system.

Lol at this being the "easiest, most likely" scenario.

A 4 team playoffs with 5 power conferences is not going to be comprised of only 2 conferences. Thats lunacy.

You havent even mentioned the acc in the entire post. A Clemson or UNC that's a 1 loss acc champion is getting in over Tenn or the OSU/um loser guaranteed
