They're number 6 because they have better wins than anyone behind them. There's only 3 1-loss teams behind LSU..USC, Clemson, and UNC. Clemson has a blowout loss to previously unranked Notre Dame and their best win is against #24 NC State. USC lost to the only good team they've played, Utah. UNC also has a loss to Notre Dame and has no top 25 wins.
That's why LSU is #6. They have 2 top 10 wins, a loss to a top 5 team, and a 1-point loss to a top 20 team week 1.

I guess you didn’t watch the game. Texas couldn’t do anything and it was only a 7 point game because they got a defensive TD in the last 5 minutes.
