First of all nobody wants to follow Saban. Then, Bama would never hire anyone who has an AU connection. Dye would have been a better choice instead of Perkins, Curry or even Stallings at the point the openings occurred. Dye spent 8 years at Bama and knew the system. But his decision to go to AU killed it.

Times have changed since the old days. If you want your program to be successful, you go after the best candidate, regardless of affiliation! Not saying he would definitely go to Bama but, out of all the coaches and with Lane being Lane...following Saban wouldn't bother him!
