wtf are you talking about? We have two divisions. The winners of each division play for the conference championship. LSU won the west, hence we will be playing for the championship. This isn’t rocket science.

Is OU even bowl eligible this year?

Actually, SEC fans (old school) and some new school do recognize which programs have made it to Atlanta and how many times. Bama and Florida for example is the most played match up. Bama has played in 14 of the now 31 Games (2022), Florida 13, then UGA at 10 and LSU now at 7. LSU has made good on their appearances winning it 5 of their previous 6 trys. The LSU/UGA game is the 2nd most played SEC title game behind Bama/UF, as I already noted.

So SEC Championship game appearances are 1 of those markers that are used to measure your programs success relative to other SEC teams. Not the most important marker, but an important data point. Obviously, SEC Titles, BCS and CFP appearances and National Championships are more important.

Since 2003, the SEC West has had a representative in the national title game 15 times (Alabama 9, LSU 4, Auburn 2) and won 10 titles. A lot of it is Alabama, but it isn't all Alabama. You can double check me on that, but no other conference--let alone division--comes close to that.
