So...if it was a safety, Georgia would have gotten 2 points and Tennessee would have kicked off from the 20 yard line. As it was, Tennessee had to kick from the 1 yard line...so Georgia gets the ball at the UT 37. Georgia scores on their first play from scrimmage. In this instance, it may have actually been better for UT to have taken the Safety than punt from inside their own 1.

Take the 2, take the good starting starting position after the safety, and score on that sorry arse defense.

Sorry. Always take the points. Being up by 3 scores is better than being up by 2.

That’s starting with the assumption that UGA doesn’t score after the safety, anyway. Which I’m not sure is a safe assumption.
