Have to also take into account that a shitload of people will be without a job the moment CNS steps down. Not just football coaches but a huge support staff.
I remember an interview with joepa later in his career and he said he thought about those things when he contemplated retirement earlier.

For example, you have a secretary for 15-30 years. You see that person have kids and grandkids and as you get older, things like that start to play louder in your head. Just sayin

Not that I don’t feel sympathetic to those support personnel, but no successful business operates in that manner anymore. Specific to Saban though, if that does get that into his head, then he can hire many of them to assist with his next stage, whether that would be in broadcasting or consulting, etc. AD Byrne would shoulder the responsibility to relocate those deserving personnel somewhere within the athletic department or the president within the campus, or the chancellor within the system.
If they’ve been employed 15-30 years, then they are eligible for retirement, depending on age and tier.
