HOWEVER we better hope his terms are on a timeline that doesn't lead to him leaving us in wilderness.
The best time for him to decide to hang 'em up would be this December but the next best time would be next December if he's still leading a sloppy, undisciplined team that will seemingly find a way to give an opponent a chance rather than seizing the game.
Yes, he's done so much for this program that he gets to write his own final chapter but it may be better for whatever Alabama is after Saban for him to be frank with himself and recognize he is slipping.

I'm not writing Saban off yet, but he better get it in gear. If he really wants to keep coaching, this off season's moves will tell me if his heart is really in staying.

Saban could coach several more years...IF he doesn't let bad staff hires take him down into mediocrity. If the Standard isn't just lip service and it's something he still demands from the ENTIRE program, we'll be fine. Time to take the program off autopilot and resume manual control.

Nah… It’s a business now. It’s the process. If you can’t handle it or play or even coach on that level more than likely you need to move on.
It’s no shame or nothing to be embarrassed about knowing it’s time to walk away. Especially someone like Saban with all the titles. But, it does get embarrassing if you stay and knowing you just can’t coach them anymore. Coach Bryant knew it all to well.
